Little Shad - 1 1/2 oz Slab
The slab that put Lead Babies on the map and into Bass Pro Shops. The Little Shad is a compact, hand-painted jigging slab whose tight, wounded-shad flutter triggers reaction strikes from largemouth bass, hybrid bass, walleye, and crappie all year long. It casts far, sinks true, and stays in the strike zone over deep structure from 10 to 40 feet. Order it in chartreuse, and the finish glows in low light and stained water for an extra edge. Like every Lead Babies Slab, it is hand-painted and assembled in Canton, Oklahoma, USA — built to out-fish and outlast mass-produced jigging spoons.

Overview
Why Seasoned Anglers Love the Little Shad - 1 1/2 oz Slab
The Little Shad is Lead Babies' flagship slab — the lure that put the brand in Bass Pro Shops. Its compact profile perfectly imitates wounded shad and triggers reaction strikes from bass, walleye, and crappie year-round. Lead body gives it an ideal sink rate; the hand-painted finish adds lifelike flash.
Like every Lead Babies Slab, the Little Shad is hand-painted and assembled in Canton, Oklahoma — never mass-produced. That hands-on craft is why it has earned a place in tackle boxes, guide boats, and Bass Pro Shops across nine states since 1989.
The hand-painted lead body wobbles and flashes on the fall — the exact distress signal that flips a neutral fish into a feeding fish.
Dense lead loads the rod and cuts wind, then drops on a true vertical line so you stay in the strike zone longer.
Order it in chartreuse, and the finish glows — a proven edge in stained water, low light, and depths past 25 feet.
Eagle Claw trebles and baked enamel hold up to toothy fish and rocky structure, cast after cast after cast.

Technique Guide
How To Fish The Little Shad - 1 1/2 oz Slab
01
Make a long cast and let the Little Shad flutter on a semi-slack line. Count it down to the depth fish are holding — usually 10 to 40 feet over structure.
02
Snap the rod tip up sharply 12–18" to make the slab dart and flash, then let it flutter back down on a controlled slack line. This rise-and-fall is what draws the strike.
03
Most strikes happen as the slab falls. Watch your line — if it jumps, twitches, or goes slack early, set the hook hard.
04
Use shad and white in clear water, chartreuse and fire tiger in stained water or low light. Switch colors until you find the bite.
