Lead Babies Slabs are fishing lures that came from the imagination of an “ingenious” fisherman who studied the art of fishing with slabs. He became a legend in small towns of western Oklahoma with his fishing abilities and eventually across Oklahoma and north Texas. Dale Montgomery spent from 1990 perfecting his paint and finishes on his lures, there designs and weights. He experimented with new ideas, colors and gradually came forth with a lure unequaled in quality and performance.
Dale received the sad news in late spring 1998 that he had contracted cancer. From this unfortunate and sad event I became the owner of Lead Babies Slabs in January of 1999. With the guidance of Dale and his wife Mary, before he became too ill, I was taught the secrets of his painting and finishing techniques.
Lead Babies Slabs have continued to grow in popularity and performance and can be found across 9 states in major retailers such as Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and Cabela’s.
